Preschool Approach

Nurturing a Love of Learning

Preschool Students Building a tower

At our play-based preschool, teachers nurture children's natural inclination to explore, discover, learn, and connect with others. Our preschool classes provide children with a safe and engaging community environment that encourages their love of learning and positive growth and development. Our children sense the loving commitment that our teachers have toward each and every child and thrive in the atmosphere of caring and respect that exists in our classrooms.

Our preschool follows evidence-based, developmentally-appropriate practice. In 1988, our preschool become the first in Wake County and third in NC to achieve accreditation by NAEYC (the National Association for the Education of Young Children). We are one of the few schools in the country that has been able to maintain continuous accreditation for 35+ years.

The Raleigh School Preschool is a community leader with over 35 years of accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

NAEYC accreditation represents the highest standard in early childhood educational practice.

After our last NAEYC visit, our accreditation was renewed with high commendations in every category including: Relationships, Curriculum, Teaching, Assessment, Health, Teachers, Families, and Leadership & Management.

We appreciated how the curriculum was developed based on the interests of the class and how thoughtfully it incorporated developmentally-appropriate teaching methods. The teachers always explained why they were doing each activity and offered advice for additional conversations/activities at home. Also, we loved the focus on independence.
