Parent Involvement
Children do better in school when they see their parents invested in the school. This is a core value of our school, and it has paid rich dividends over the years to the families who have jumped in whole-heartedly.
Our school resembles a modern-day village. Children and parents alike make lifelong friends here. The spirit of parent involvement that lead our founders to create the school remains strong and is visible every day on campus in many ways.
You might see a parent reading to children in the classroom, planting a garden, or organizing a school-wide event.
Parents have built lofts in preschool classrooms, spread mulch across campus, drafted strategic plans and baked teacher appreciation items. This connection to the community enriches the children's experience, the parents' experience, and the community as a whole.
TRS has inspired me to be a more active and involved parent. It's easy to allow yourself to 'regress to the mean' of what others around you do, despite your aspirations. At TRS, the bar is set high on parent involvement, which inspires and pushes you to 'raise your game' as well in a positive way.

We ask parents to participate in many ways including:
- Serve on one of 45 committees that are meaningful to the life of the school. Committees run the range from Preschool Gate, which has specific on-campus times required, to Photography and Video which allows you to participate in committee work at times and on days that work best for your schedule.
- Participate in the classroom by driving on field trips, helping organize class events, signing up for specific 30-60 minute activities designed by the teacher for that grade.
- Engage with your child when they have presentations or special activities such as Kindergarten Special Day or fourth grade Harry Potter Day.
- Serve as helping parent on a rotating basis each month for the preschool class in which your child is enrolled.
