Admissions Timeline & Process:

Many families are surprised to learn that our enrollment timeline begins the year before the school year of interest. Applications for the 2025-2026 admissions season are now available as of Tuesday, October 1. We encourage you begin the application process right away to ensure that you have plenty of time to complete it.

Completed applications received by Friday, December 13 with all supporting documentation will receive first consideration. After that date, applications will be considered on a rolling basis if space permits.

Preschool and Kindergarten applicants who meet our first consideration deadline will be notified of admissions decisions February 18, 2025 while Elementary applicants will receive admissions decisions on February 28, 2025.

Elementary Application Process

Step 1: Complete Inquiry Form

Interested in learning more about The Raleigh School? Please take a moment to complete our inquiry form so that we can answer your questions and provide any specific information you may need before you start the application process.

Please Note: If you are a current TRS family, or if you have previously submitted an inquiry, you do not need to complete this step again.

Step 2: Complete Admissions Application Form

In this section, you'll be asked to submit student and family demographic information, a parent questionnaire, and information on the applicant's personality and character. The final step of the application form is paying the non-refundable application fee of $100 (per child).

Step 3: Attend an Elementary Information Session and Campus Tour

We believe it is critical that families come to know our school and mission before making a commitment. All prospective families will be required to attend an information session for the 2025-2026 admissions season. The Raleigh School admissions office will offer both in-person and virtual information sessions which will begin October 2024 and go through December 2024 ( See additional details below). Registration for our information sessions and campus tours will open in mid-September. You'll be able to schedule your session during the application process, or you can register on our Admissions Event page.

Step 4: Applicant Visit

In addition to the supporting materials that we collect as part of the application process, we also often invite applicants to a classroom visit. In order for an applicant to be invited for a visit as part of our first-round admissions decisions, families need to submit completed applications by December 13. During classroom visits, applicants will attend class for two full school-days, and they will be asked to participate in activities to the best of their ability.

Invitations for visits will be made in January and will be based on a number of factors. Applicants who apply after the initial deadline date will be invited to visit only if there is a possible opening.

Step 5: Submit Supporting Documentation

When you gain access to your admissions portal, you will see an admissions checklist requesting supporting documentation. These items include:

-Birth Certificate

-Confidential Teacher Recommendation(s)

-Latest Progress Report

-Vaccination Records
