Applying to TRS

Our best advice to prospective families is, apply early! Many families are surprised to learn that our enrollment timeline begins the year before the school year in question.

We begin accepting enrollment applications for the next school year in October of the current year.

Example: For the 2019-2020 school year, applications open on October 1, 2018.

STUDENT placement by age
We place children according to their age on August 31 in the year of admission.

Example: A child who is four years old on August 31, 2018 will be considered for placement in the 2018-2019 preschool fours class.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE current (2018-2019) SCHOOL YEAR

The preschool and elementary school are fully enrolled for 2018-2019. It's not uncommon for vacancies to arise at the beginning of the school year due to family changes such as relocation. Wait list applicants will be notified as openings arise.

CLASS VISITS FOR elementary applicants

Kindergarten applicants are required to attend a kindergarten applicant visit, typically scheduled in January. This two-hour visit is structured like a preschool class, with center time, circle time, snack, and outdoor play. Applicants who have applied by Jan. 5 will be invited to visit once applications are complete.

Applicants for grades 1-5 are required to attend a two-day visit in the classroom with the applicant's current grade cohort. The applicant participates in all activities as a student during those two days. Applicants who have applied by Jan. 4 will be invited to visit once applications are complete. Applicants who apply after Jan. 4 will be invited to visit if there is a possible opening.

2019-2029 APPLICATION DEADLINE

Jan. 11, 2019: First-round deadline. We will only consider completed applications., i.e. all checklist items must be complete.

The most amazing thing about this is that my children were in an environment that has fostered a love of learning. Not only is the learning fun but the teachers allow the kids to be kids and use their own creativity. No matter where they go to middle school I believe that TRS has set the foundation of how teachers should treat students and how people treat people.
