Research-Based

At The Raleigh School, our approach to teaching and learning is grounded in decades of educational research and learning science. We know that children learn best through active engagement, meaningful connections, and hands-on exploration, so our curriculum is intentionally designed to reflect those findings. From our play-based early childhood program to our inquiry-driven elementary classrooms, students are encouraged to question, investigate, and collaborate—approaches consistently shown by research to deepen understanding and promote long-term retention.

Being research-based at TRS also means we continually refine our practice. Our educators engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with emerging studies in cognitive science, child development, and progressive education. We integrate evidence-based strategies—such as scaffolded learning, formative assessment, and experiential, project-based work—to ensure that every child is challenged, supported, and inspired. This commitment to research-driven teaching empowers TRS students to grow not only in knowledge, but also in creativity, confidence, and curiosity about the world around them.
