Parent Involvement

The Raleigh School considers parent involvement to be an important contributor to the educational success of children and encourages parents’ active participation as partners in their child's education.

Preschool parents agree to help in their child’s classroom on a regular basis – usually about once each month. Preschool parents also attend two facilities maintenance workdays during the year.

Elementary parents are offered many opportunities to spend time in their child's classroom. Participation may include attending field trips, sharing special knowledge and skills with students, and participating in classroom activities.

Each parent at The Raleigh School serves on one of the committees of the school. The committees are responsible for all aspects of school life, such as organizing the annual spring carnival, implementing technology, and creating the school newsletter. Raleigh School parents are voting members of the non-profit corporation and may be elected to the Board of Trustees.

Active involvement of parents is fundamental to successful education.
