Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Annual Fund important?
Giving to our school is an investment in your child’s education. The benefits from an Annual Fund donation are immediate and visible within the current fiscal year. Your financial contributions support a child-centered atmosphere where children are nurtured and where their minds are challenged each day. Revenue from the Annual Fund helps our school to better manage the need for significant tuition increases in any given year.

- Small class sizes
- Professional training and development for faculty and staff

- Cultural arts performances

Who should give to the Annual Fund?
We hope all current parents will contribute. Our goal is to reach 100% parent participation. Faculty and staff are also asked to show their support for our school by making a donation each year. We welcome gifts from grandparents, corporations, alumni parents, alumni, and other friends of our community.
When should I contribute?
You may contribute at any time during the school’s fiscal year which runs July 1 – June 30. For tax purposes, gifts made on or before December 31 are eligible to be claimed as a current-year tax deduction.
What is an acceptable amount to give?
Every gift makes a difference. We request that you consider giving at a level which represents a meaningful donation for you and your family. Please make donating to the Annual Fund a yearly priority.
How can I give?
Gifts may be made by cash, check, with designated funds or appreciated securities, or online at https://www.raleighschool.org/giving/giving.aspx. You may decide to make a pledge and make payments throughout the school year. Corporate matching funds will be credited to the donating parent, in effect doubling your total gift.
Are gifts to The Raleigh School and the Annual Fund deductible?
The Raleigh School is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Contributions to the school are deductible as allowed by law. Because tuition payments are not deductible, the Annual Fund can provide a winning combination for many families. With your commitment to the Annual Fund you are helping to support our school’s operating budget with a gift that can then provide a tax-deduction for you.
