Financial Aid

The Raleigh School believes that economic diversity enriches the educational opportunity for all members of its community. We have limited financial aid funds available for currently enrolled students and prospective Raleigh School students. Financial aid awards are designed to cover tuition charges only and are made based upon a family’s demonstrated need for financial assistance. The Raleigh School uses TADS Financial Aid Service (TADS) to help us assess what a family is able to contribute toward education expenses.

When determining a family’s eligibility for financial aid, The Raleigh School considers a need analysis provided by TADS. The TADS system considers taxable and non-taxable income, assets, liabilities, family size, and the number of students in tuition-charging schools. After an allowance for basic necessities and required taxes, the remaining funds are considered available for education. Financial aid is awarded without regard to race, gender, handicap, national and ethnic origin, or religion.

Applying for Financial Aid at The Raleigh School

All families wishing to apply for financial assistance at The Raleigh School can begin the financial aid application process by going to www.tads.com beginning October 1, 2012. Click on the Apply for Financial Aid link on the right side of TADS’ website home page to create a user account and access the financial aid application on their secure site.


Currently Enrolled Preschool and/or Elementary Families

Currently enrolled Raleigh School families reapply for financial aid each year and recalculations are made using current information. To be eligible for consideration for financial assistance at The Raleigh School, the following deadlines must be adhered to:

  • October 1, 2012 – Financial aid application process opens. Go to www.tads.com, click on the Apply for Financial Aid link on the right side of TADS’ website home page to create a user account and access the financial aid application on their secure site.
  • January 15, 2013 – Deadline for submitting a completed financial aid application online to TADS. In addition, all required supporting documentation (2011 W-2’s and/or 1099’s, and signed/final 2011 1040 federal income tax return with all supporting schedules) must be submitted directly to TADS by fax, mail, or upload by this date.
    Note: Each family applying for financial assistance bears the responsibility to provide TADS with the required documentation and any additional information requested in a timely manner. The Raleigh School will make every effort to provide our re-enrolling families with preliminary aid decisions prior to the re-enrollment deadline of February 19, 2013.
  • March 15, 2013 – Deadline for submitting 2012 W-2’s and/or 1099’s, and signed/final 2012 1040 federal income tax return with all supporting schedules directly to TADS by fax, mail, or upload.
  • April 1, 2013 - Final award letters will be sent out to re-enrolling preschool and/or elementary families. Preliminary awards may be rescinded if signed/final 2012 tax documents are not received by TADS by the March 15, 2013 deadline. The Raleigh School reserves the right to modify financial aid awards after reviewing a family’s 2012 tax return and supporting documentation.

New Elementary (K-5) Applicant Families

Families of new K-5 student applicants should apply for financial aid early in the admission process for the following school year. To be eligible for consideration for financial assistance at The Raleigh School, an applicant must have completed the admission process, adhered to the deadlines below, and been offered enrollment.

  • October 1, 2012 – Financial aid application process opens. Go to www.tads.com, click on the Apply for Financial Aid link on the right side of TADS’ website home page to create a user account and access the financial aid application on their secure site.
  • January 15, 2013 – Deadline for submitting a completed financial aid application online to TADS. In addition, all required supporting documentation (2011 W-2’s and/or 1099’s, and signed/final 2011 1040 federal income tax return with all supporting schedules) must be submitted directly to TADS by fax, mail, or upload by this date.
    Note: Each family applying for financial assistance bears the responsibility to provide TADS with the required documentation and any additional information requested in a timely manner. The Raleigh School will make every effort to provide our new elementary applicant families with a preliminary aid decision prior to the enrollment date of February 19, 2013 (for kindergarten) and March 18, 2013 (for 1st – 5th grade).
  • March 15, 2013 – Deadline for submitting 2012 W-2’s and/or 1099’s, and signed/final 2012 1040 federal income tax return with all supporting schedules directly to TADS by fax, mail, or upload.
  • April 1, 2013 - Final award letters will be sent out to new elementary enrollment families. Preliminary awards may be rescinded if signed/final 2012 tax documents are not received by TADS by the March 15, 2013 deadline. The Raleigh School reserves the right to modify financial aid awards after reviewing a family’s 2012 tax return and supporting documentation.

New Preschool Applicant Families

Families of new preschool student applicants should apply for financial aid early in the admission process for the following school year. To be eligible for consideration for financial assistance at The Raleigh School, an applicant must have completed the application process, adhered to the deadlines below, and been offered enrollment.

  • October 1, 2012 – Financial aid application process opens. Go to www.tads.com, click on the Apply for Financial Aid link on the right side of TADS’ website home page to create a user account and access the financial aid application on their secure site.
  • February 7, 2013 – Deadline for submitting a completed financial aid application online to TADS. In addition, all required supporting documentation (2011 W-2’s and/or 1099’s, and signed/final 2011 1040 federal income tax return with all supporting schedules) must be submitted directly to TADS by fax, mail, or upload by this date.
    Note: Each family applying for financial assistance bears the responsibility to provide TADS with the required documentation and any additional information requested in a timely manner. The Raleigh School will make every effort to provide our new preschool applicant families with a preliminary aid decision prior to the preschool enrollment date of March 15, 2013.
  • March 15, 2013 – Deadline for submitting 2012 W-2’s and/or 1099’s, and signed/final 2012 1040 federal income tax return with all supporting schedules directly to TADS by fax, mail, or upload.
  • April 1, 2013 - Final award letters will be sent out to new preschool enrollment families. Preliminary awards may be rescinded if signed/final 2012 tax documents are not received by TADS by the March 15, 2013 deadline.
