Greetings from the Head of School!

It is my great honor and privilege to welcome you to The Raleigh School’s website. I hope that you will take your time, browse carefully through these pages, and take note of the unique qualities that make The Raleigh School so special.

There is no more important decision a parent can make than the selection of their child’s preschool and elementary experience. After thirty years of work in elementary and high schools, I am fully convinced that what happens during a child’s preschool and elementary years sets an indelible mark for a lifetime. When a teacher helps a young child learn to love learning, collaborate and work with others, respect differences and look for similarities in others, and build strong critical and creative thinking skills, he or she makes an enormous difference in a child’s lifelong learning. Teachers at The Raleigh School do this work each and every day. They love children, they take pleasure in helping them question and discover new insights and skills, and they eagerly partner with parents in shaping their lives.
